Where and how did your character enter the Hedge? After Sora won her and the other girls back in the previous chapter, the older girl went looking for one of her other missing friends. Tomoko went off to try and find Sora on her own soon after, only to find herself lost within the Hedge instead.

Character Information
Name: Tomoko Oashi
Canon: Shitsurakuen
Canon Point: Mid-chapter 23
Age: 14
History: Wiki link.
Personality:
- Scared: Tomoko can be seen as a huge scaredy-cat a lot of the time. She has made some steps towards getting away from wallowing in her fears, however, though she’s still nervous whenever she’s apart from the familiar or when she isn’t angry and worked up over something else entirely. This often marked her as an easy target for bullies, which becomes much more pronounced after Sora wins her as a weapon in the game of Exaclan. Thanks to that, she can’t help but be twitchy towards strangers and boys (and by association, grown men) in particular, as they are who made up the majority of her tormentors.
- Inferiority Complex: Her fear and past experiences have also left her harboring a massive inferiority complex. She still isn’t sure why anyone would ever want to protect her, as she’s certain she’s worthless. When compared to all the braver people around her, how could anyone want someone like her around?
- Loyal: This brings us to what makes up for her many fears: her loyalty. Even before she finally decided to side with Sora, when she was reluctant to be connected to her in any way, she still felt the need to help the person who had helped her. This is what fuels her sudden bursts of bravery. As frightened as she is, she won’t stand by and let anyone she cares about get hurt if there’s any way she can prevent it. In this, she has the potential to become a stalwart defender, which would likely be her real nature if she hadn’t been put through the wringer at Utopia Academy. An example of this is later in the series when Tomoko shields the youngest girl of their group from one of the boys intent on hitting them, in total spite of the fact that she and that particular girl never got along. Her reasoning behind why was simply because she was older and she should protect the younger girl. It was never a responsibility that had been given to her, it was merely one she decided on then and there.
- Loud: She also has a temper, a short one, and since joining Sora’s group she’s even quicker to jump at any offense given to, firstmost, her friends and, eventually, herself, once she works out that someone might be making fun of her. In this, Tomoko can be a lot like a barking dog, making noise at anything that passes by. A great enough insult will even knock over any moment of dread she might be having so she can yell at the person who issued it and she will go on and on and on if no one calms her down, even going as far as taking a bite at them if they make the mistake of getting too near.
- Just a kid: Getting beyond the first impressions of a terrified (or, at times, very loud and bitey) kid, she turns out to be fairly curious, if a little naive. Tomoko’s interested in just about anything that isn’t inherently scary. She’s also a little slow at picking up on more complex jokes (especially innuendos) and topics, though that’s more due to being a sheltered fourteen-year-old and not because she isn’t smart.
